My name is Alexandra, I am 26 years old and I am Romanian. Growing up I really wanted to fly and I planned to be an astronaut, but as the years passed I left that dream behind and replaced it with new ones. When I graduated high school, I didn’t really know what I was good at, but I knew what I wanted to do: I wanted to act. Of course, due to the difficult living of actors in Romania, that wasn’t much of an option for a decent future, so instead I decided to work and go to Law School and maybe find what I needed there. That didn’t actually happen, and after I tried a few jobs I realized that my mind was still on acting and my idea of a good job was based on the interaction with people.

So I went to an acting school and studied the art of pantomiming and living statue. After I graduated I kept working for the theatre every summer. Meanwhile I decided to go to college and get a Bachelor Degree in Political and Cultural Sciences and the European Studies department.

Last year, during the project in Bosnia, both of my areas of study proved appropriate for the work-shops. I got to talk and share my opinions about democracy, while singing, acting and doing acrobatics in other work-shops.

This year it would be my pleasure if I could share with you the beauty of the living statue performance. I won’t lie to you, it’s not an easy thing to learn, but once you get the hang of it… it feels good! If I get to work with you during a work-shop I plan to make it fun and give it an original twist.

On the other hand, it would also be my pleasure if we could hang out, talk about what’s happening in the world, how we can make it better and how we can raise awareness on what democracy really should be like.

That’s all I want to say about me on here. I’m a really open minded and sociable person and I’m sure we can find out more about each other in person. I like talking, telling and listening to stories and laughing, definitely a lot of laughing!
