"Clare Moody was elected as the Member of the European Parliament for the South West and Gibraltar in May 2014. She is a member of the influential Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats and sits on the Budget Committee, Industry, Research and Energy Committee and Women's Rights and Gender Equality Committee.
This parliamentary work is important and Clare recognises the responsibilities she has as an elected representative. However, her top priority is to her constituents in the South West and Gibraltar.
Clare has spent her working life as a trade unionist representing people in a wide variety of industries. Doing this has given her a daily insight in to just how much people are struggling to make ends meet in our region. As an MEP she will be working hard to ensure we can do something about that and so you have someone on your side in Brussels.
Clare has spent the majority of her adult life in the South West and knows the rich diversity of our region well. She is passionate about making sure everyone in our region has the ability to have a safe, secure job that can provide for their them and their family and that they can benefit from the shared prosperity that being in Europe brings."
